• Alumni see an average salary increase of 70 per cent three years post-graduation to US$323,038
  • NUS EMBA holds steady in 24th position globally, remains #1 single-degree programme among Singapore universities

Singapore, 17 October 2022 — The National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School’s double-degree Executive MBA programme with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA-NUS EMBA) has leapfrogged 18 spots to place 11th in the latest Financial Times (FT) EMBA Rankings.

The intensely competitive FT ranking is based on surveys conducted with alumni who graduated three years ago, school data, and quality of research. Key criteria include salary increases and career progression, diversity of faculty and students, as well as course experience.

UCLA-NUS EMBA – worth its weight in salary increase, student diversity and career progress

Alumni from the UCLA-NUS EMBA programme achieved a 70 per cent increase in their salaries three years after graduation, reaching an average of US$323,038 for their salary today.

There was also tremendous improvement in the programme’s career progress rank, leaping from 83rd to 26th position. The rank is calculated according to changes in the alumni’s level of job seniority and company size, compared to their pre-EMBA status.

In line with efforts to create more diverse and inclusive learning experiences, the programme’s proportion of female students came in at 41 per cent, a marked improvement compared to 30 per cent in the previous year. It also scored well (82 per cent) for international student diversity, exposing students to diverse perspectives and preparing them for a global business environment.

The UCLA-NUS EMBA also came in 6th in the world for its international course experience rank. With segments across Singapore, the United States, China and India, the programme hones senior executives’ understanding of business in the United States and Asia.

NUS EMBA scores well in salary increase, research quality and international course experience

At 24th position, the NUS EMBA is the top single-degree EMBA programme among those offered by Singapore universities.

While it has inched from 22nd to 24th position, the NUS EMBA programme has achieved notable improvement in some criteria. For example, NUS EMBA alumni saw a salary increase of 55 per cent three years after graduation, higher than the salary increase of 50 per cent for those surveyed in the previous year. The average salary today of NUS EMBA alumni is US$370,402.

The programme’s FT research rank rose from 36th to 27th placing, a testament of the high quality of faculty’s research publications. It also made headway in its proportion of female faculty from 28 per cent to 32 per cent.

With teaching segments held across several cities in Asia, Europe and North America, the NUS EMBA programme shifted upward by one spot to 20th position for the international course experience rank.

Distinguished Professor Andrew Rose, Dean, NUS Business School, said, “Our EMBA programmes have shown stellar results in this year’s Financial Times’ ranking. This group of alumni, who graduated in 2019, has faced great uncertainty from the global pandemic and increasing geopolitical tensions. We are heartened that they are doing well today, navigating their businesses to the next stage. As a leading business school in Asia, we remain steadfast in our mission to deliver transformative education and groom the next generation of leaders.”
