Singapore, 11 November 2016 – A total of 12 individuals were honoured for their exceptional achievements in leading change and innovation, as well as for outstanding service to society at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School’s Eminent Business Alumni Awards 2016.

Presented biennially to recognise the achievements of distinguished alumni, this year’s awards features recipients who spearheaded change and innovation in a range of industries such as Information Technology (IT), banking, finance, food and beverage and non-profit organisations. The 12 recipients were honoured by Mr Lawrence Wong, Minister for National Development and Second Minister for Finance at an award ceremony held this evening.

Senior Alumni Awards

  • Tan Sri Albert Cheng Yong Kim, Deputy Chairman, The Lion Group (Bachelor of Business Administration with Honours, 1971)
  • Ms Jocelyn Chng Yee Kwang, Managing Director, Sin Hwa Dee Foodstuff Industries Pte Ltd, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, JR Group Holdings Pte Ltd (Asia-Pacific Executive Master of Business Administration English, 2012)
  • Ms Susan Chong Suk Shien, Chief Executive Officer, Greenpac (S) Pte Ltd (Asia-Pacific Executive Master of Business Administration English, 2012)

This year’s Eminent Business Alumni Award recipients are trailblazers who transform organisations as well as the business landscape. They are role models for future generations of NUS Business School students. We thank them and congratulate them for their achievements,” said Professor Bernard Yeung, Dean and Stephen Riady Distinguished Professor, NUS Business School.

Added Mr Peter Seah, Chairman of DBS Group and alumnus of NUS Business School (BBA Honours, 1968), “The calibre of our nominees keeps getting better. Particularly, this year saw the most number of nominees in the Young Alumni award category – a true reflection of millennials determining the future of business. As an exporter of talent to Asia, NUS Business School continues to nurture and mould this young talent pool that will keep Singapore relevant and plugged-in to the regional economies.”
