The format of the competition featured an online preliminary round, a semi-final round that had 12 teams battling in five-hour and 24-hour cases, and the final round that featured a 20-hour case.

For the case challenges, the teams were tasked to help businesses of various verticals compete in the face of digital disruption.

The NUS MBA had two teams at the competition. Milinda Binara Seneviratne, Ngoc Anh Phan, Rataporn Woraprasert and Yi Zhang, from Team Candy Crush clinched one of the semi-finalist spots.

The teams said that modules including Corporate Strategy, Analytics, Marketing, Accounting, Operations and Behavioural Economics prepared them for the competition. The cases discussed in these modules sharpened their critical thinking process.

NUS Business School’s performance at the challenge was truly a team effort. Members of the MBA alumni who competed in earlier case competitions contributed templates they had used previously. Teams Shooting Stars and Candy Crush believe these polished templates made them stand out from the competition.
