NUS BBA teams fly high at the SMU Tax Case Challenge

Congratulations to our accounting students for making the school proud at the SMU Tax Case Challenge.

Teams Taxus and iPhone Tax clinched the first runners-up and second runners-up spots respectively in the Tax Case Challenge category, while Team Group Relief became first runners-up in the Tax Associate category. Other teams also grabbed various consolation prizes.

Most of the students are new to such competitions and had very little experience with tax, said Associate Professor Simon Poh, Department of Accounting. He added that the students even took the effort to read up on new topics on tax that are not taught yet.

In its 6th annual instalment, SMU Tax Case Challenge is a competition for students to develop their analytical skills and interest in taxation through a series of stimulating case studies.
