Happenings: Up Close & Personal with Paul Chan, Financial Secretary, HKSARG

Together with Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, we hosted a forum with a special guest, Mr Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government (HKSARG). Speaking to alumni, faculty, staff and students, he shared insights into how Hong Kong could join hands with ASEAN economies to harness regional growth in the post-COVID era.

Mr Chan said “Hong Kong is an excellent gateway for the ASEAN region into China. We can be the connector, partner, advisor and risk manager for China.” The Hong Kong government is also keen to attract talent to its shores. They are various talent schemes for professionals to work and live there.

The session was moderated by Stephen Riady Distinguished Professor in Finance and Strategic Management Bernard Yeung.
