EMBA programmes rank top among Singapore universities

According to the Financial Times’ global rankings of EMBA, our flagship EMBA programme is ranked 18th and our joint programme with University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) close behind at 22nd, placing both NUS programmes among the best in Asia. This is the 17th edition of the Financial Times annual ranking of the world’s top 100 executive MBA programmes for senior working managers.

Our programmes were assessed on three broad categories – career progress, school diversity, and idea generation, where the area of career progress scored particularly well . On average, NUS EMBA graduates receive a 50 percent increase in salary upon graduation. Data for the ranking are collected using two online surveys: the first is completed by participating schools and the second by alumni who graduated from nominated programmes in 2014.

Both EMBA programmes are also a meeting point for participants with a wealth of working experience that facilitates networking and an exchange of ideas. For this component, the NUS EMBA programme ranked 12th and the UCLA – NUS EMBA programme 13th globally.  Based on our alum’s feedback, they felt that joining NUS was a worthwhile investment as they had the opportunity to tap on rich peer-to-peer learning from other top executives from various industries and successful entrepreneurs from as many as 20 nationalities in each cohort, each with their own expertise to share and stories to tell.

Mr Elmar Dietl said taking on the NUS EMBA programme was a once-in-a-lifetime experience as it had an exceptional faculty consisting world class academics and high profile practitioners combined with an outstanding cohort of participating senior executives from all over the world.

Celebrating it’s 20th anniversary, the NUS EMBA global programme focuses on Asia-Pacific business and study segments are conducted in Singapore and five additional countries – China, India, Indonesia, Japan and Australia. The strong Asia-Pacific geographic footprint is testimony of our commitment to meet global executives’ and entrepreneurs’ needs for a quality international curriculum and immersion that addresses the challenges of doing business, at different levels of development and growth in the Asia-Pacific region.

Meanwhile, the joint UCLA – NUS EMBA programme,  capitalises on the strengths of two Pacific Rim business epicenters, Los Angeles, California, and Singapore, as well as exposure to other technology and financial hubs in Asia. Conducted in five vibrant cities – Singapore, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Delhi and Bangalore, this 15-month program prepares you for top leadership positions.

Ms Deborah Chew, a UCLA – NUS EMBA graduate, “I think the School has taught me to believe in myself, as an individual, as a woman, as a leader, and as a member of society. Everything that I learn I also share with others, and every day for me is a learning journey.”

Her views are echoed by David Woodward, another UCLA – NUS EMBA alumnus, “The programme was extremely insightful in breadth and depth of learning, which I believe is a lifelong process.”

Besides the NUS EMBA and UCLA – NUS EMBA programmes, NUS Business School also conducts a Chinese-speaking NUS EMBA (Chinese) programme.
