Department of Real Estate joins NUS Business School

NUS Business School has a new addition to the family.

The Department of Real Estate (DRE) has joined the school officially on 1 July 2021, bringing a rich trove of intellectual minds, energy and sparks.

“There are natural synergies between real estate and business,” says Professor Sing Tien Foo, Head of DRE. “The move will provide more opportunities in multi-disciplinary education and research for our students and faculty. “Real estate is an important asset class in investment and business. We believe that the integration into the Business School will enrich the study of Real Estate as well as the other business disciplines.”

DRE has been established since 1969, and has been part of the School of Design and Environment (SDE) at NUS since 2000.

Besides DRE, NUS Business School has six other departments, namely in Accounting, Analytics & Operations, Finance, Management & Organisation, Marketing, and Strategy & Policy.

Undergraduates and postgraduates in DRE would continue with their respective rigorous degree programmes. In future, the Department’s alumni would also gain from an expanded network of business and real estate professionals.

“We warmly welcome our new family members from the Department of Real Estate,” says Distinguished Professor Andrew Rose, Dean, NUS Business School. “This is an important and exciting chapter for us, and we look forward to writing a new chapter, together!”
