Another Whisky Night to Remember

Whisky Business 2023 was recently held at NUS BIZMochtar Riady Building atrium and was a hit with the attendees. Over 100 alumni, faculty, staff and students participated in the networking event to meet and reconnect over a wide selection of exclusive whisky drinks.

“We get to learn more and enjoy the drink of business, the Single Malt Scotch whisky, from four different regions in Scotland,” said Yvonne Ho, Director for Development and Alumni. Her BIZAlum team spearheaded the event, a follow-up to the well-received 2022 version.

The regions include Highland (with whiskies Aberfeldy aged 12 years and Glenmorangie 10), Lowland (Auchentoshan 12), Speyside (Singleton 12 and Glenfiddich 12) and Islay (Bowmore 12 and Laphroaig 10). In addition, premium whiskies such as Dalwhinnie 15, Mortlach 16, Lagavulin 16, Auchentoshan 18 and Glenfiddich 21 were also sampled at the event.

And in the spirit of giving back to society, all net proceeds from the event went towards the NUS Business School Student Development Fund to help deserving students. Meanwhile, the attendees voted for the best dressed among them. Congratulations to Ms Zhong Chuchao (MSc student) and Mr Chen Yancheng (BBA Year 3 student) on your win as best dressed lady and gentleman respectively!

“Thank you for yet another successful Whisky Business 2023! We are thrilled to see so many members of the NUS BIZ community on campus at the event. The campus spirit was fantastic, and I am pleased to see everyone enjoying the taste of good Scotch whisky and sharing engaging conversations in networking,” said Yvonne.

And there could be more Whisky Business to come, according to Yvonne. “Stay in contact with BIZAlum and join us for our future social and networking event. Our third edition of Whisky Business may be coming up in a few months!” she said.
