Ms Grace Fu has built an extensive career in public service, contributing significantly to Singapore’s development in sustainability and international relations. An alumna of the National University of Singapore (NUS), she earned a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) and a Master of Business Administration. Her professional journey included significant roles in the private sector, notably as Chief Executive Officer of PSA Southeast Asia and Japan, where she honed her expertise in corporate planning and business development.

Transitioning to public service in 2006, Ms Fu has held various positions, including appointments in the Ministries of National Development, Education, and the Environment and Water Resources. In 2015, she became the first female Minister to helm a Ministry when she was appointed Minister for Culture, Community and Youth. In July 2020, she assumed the role of Minister for Sustainability and the Environment. In January 2024, she also took on the responsibility of Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations. Beyond her ministerial duties, Ms Fu was elected President of the Singapore National Olympic Council in January 2024, to lead Singapore sport to greater heights and create more opportunities for our athletes to represent Singapore at major Games.

As the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, she spearheads the push towards Singapore’s net zero targets and circular economy initiatives, such as the Singapore Green Plan 2030 and the Zero Waste Masterplan. She also represents Singapore at international climate negotiations, including the annual Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. In her capacity as Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, she oversees various bilateral and multilateral trade negotiations, carbon credits initiatives, and the development of Singapore’s tourism sector.
